On June 19, companies from the Krasnodar Krai at the Iran Agrofood 2023 exhibition in Tehran signed the first agreements on the supply of products to Iran. During the work, more than 100 meetings were held with Iranian companies.
There are already preliminary agreements on the supply of crops and sunflower oil. A producer from the Krasnodar Krai signed several agreements on the supply of grain, legumes, and oilseeds. Another company is negotiating the supply of PET packaging lines to Iran. There are also preliminary agreements on the export of sunflower oil from the region.
According to Alexander Ruppel, the vice-governor of the Kuban, last year, the foreign trade turnover of the Krasnodar Krai with Iran increased one and a half times, and exports account for a large share of the trade turnover. "Today, the region supplies mainly agricultural products, which opens up great opportunities for enhancing cooperation," he said.
Iranian business is interested in creating joint ventures in Iran and the Krasnodar Territory. In addition, the Iranians are interested in the region's competencies in the construction sector and the areas of industry, including agricultural engineering and metallurgy.
