EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Visits Georgia

On September 10, Toivo Klaar, the Co-Chair of the Geneva International Discussions (GID) and the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, met with Tea Akhvlediani, the Minister of Reconciliation and Civic Equality, in Tbilisi.
The Minister talked about how important it was for the European Union to play a specific role and be involved in the process of resolving disputes peacefully, especially by helping to rebuild trust between the communities that had been artificially split. Additionally, they spoke about the state of human rights in separatist South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Upon his arrival, Klaar tweeted, "Back again to start preparations for the next GID session and to also discuss regional developments."
