Georgian president unable to contact Ivanishvili

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has said that she wanted to explain to ruling Georgian Dream party founder, billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, what kind of the process of so-called accord she had launched, but the conversation did not take place.
"I have had no contacts with Bidzina Ivanishvili over almost 18 months now. I would like to tell you that I wanted to explain to him what this process implied. I offered this and he answered that he was no longer involved in politics. I did not event tell him in advance that it was this that was to be discussed, but the conversation did not take place," Zourabichvili stated.
President Zourabichvili has been meeting politicians and representatives of business and various other spheres for several weeks now. The president said that she wants to make her own contribution to overcoming polarisation and achieving accord on certain issues within society.
"Society will decide what progress this process will make. Confrontation will diminish at least a little. I think it has already diminished. This is what these conversations are to first and foremost bring about," President Salome Zourabichvili concluded.
