Head of Dagestan Promises Fair Punishments for Riot Instigators

On November 1, former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov called for forgiveness of the Dagestanis who stormed the Makhachkala airport.
"Punish those who organized this mess through Telegram channels. But not our young guys. Mitigate the punishment to an administrative one," Nurmagomedov noted.
Sergey Melikov, the head of Dagestan, commented on the call of Khabib Nurmagomedov. The head of Dagestan said that only those who broke the law would be punished.
"The materials of law enforcement agencies recorded statements by riot participants. When asked what they will do if they find Israelis, they answer: 'We will kill them.' Such people cannot be forgiven; they must be held accountable according to the law, Melikov emphasized. "I call for an objective investigation and punishment, first of all, for those who organized this event and involved people in it," Melikov said.
