
Iran Accuses Azerbaijani Citizen of Terrorist Attack in Shiraz

On November 7, Iran's Ministry of Intelligence announced that all the perpetrators of the attack on Shah Cheragh Shrine had been identified and arrested.
The Ministry's announcement stated that 26 people had been arrested so far, all of whom are citizens of Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. It is claimed that the main element of directing and coordinating operations inside the country was a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan who arrived at Tehran Airport from Baku International Airport and immediately announced his presence to the coordinating element in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Information also stated that he communicated with foreign groups through the branch of the ISIS group in Afghanistan.
Iranian intelligence claimed that the main perpetrator of the attack was from Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry of Intelligence of Iran, the supporter of the operation scene, Mohammad Ramez Rashidi Abu Bashir, was a citizen of Afghanistan. In part of the announcement of the Ministry of Intelligence of Iran, it is stated that Iran's forces managed to prevent another terrorist attack in Zahedan.
Thirteen people were killed, and several others were injured in the attack on the Shah Cheragh Shrine in the city of Shiraz. This attack happened at the height of the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people against the Islamic Republic.
