
Israeli President Calls Ilham Aliyev After Decision on Opening Embassy in Tel Aviv

On November 22, Israeli President Isaac Herzog called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani President reported.
Isaac Herzog thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the decision to open the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel and noted that this is a significant step forward in the excellent relations with Azerbaijan, which is an important friendly country and strategic partner for Israel.
President Ilham Aliyev said that the decision to open the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel further strengthens the friendly relations between the two countries.
During the telephone conversation, various aspects of Israel-Azerbaijani relations were discussed, and ideas were exchanged about future contacts.
Azerbaijan and Israel discussed bilateral and regional issues
Hikmet Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and the head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, and Alon Ushpiz, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, had a telephone conversation, George Deek, Israel's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, reported.
"During the telephone conversation, the director general of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that he welcomed Azerbaijan's decision to open an embassy in Israel. The parties discussed bilateral and regional issues," Ambassador Deek noted.
