
Kadyrov Announces Major Changes in Chechen Government Leadership

On May 24, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of Chechnya, stated that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin appointed Muslim Khuchiev as his assistant.
Notably, on May 21, Muslim Khuchiev resigned as Chairman of the Government of Chechnya to transition to this new role. Isa Tumkhadzhiev was appointed as the acting Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic.
Moreover, Ramzan Kadyrov has nominated Magomed Daudov for the position of Chairman of the Republic's Government.
Kadyrov expressed confidence in Magomed Daudov’s ability to handle the responsibilities of the Chairman of the Government of the Chechen [Federal] Republic. "He will take this post after the approval procedure stipulated by law in the regional parliament. Given his extensive experience and high professionalism, I am sure the deputies will fully support Magomed Khozhakhmedovich's candidacy," Kadyrov stated. Additionally, Isa Tumkhadzhiev, the current Minister of Roads of the Chechen Republic, will retain the position of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Chechen [Federal] Republic.
