Kaladze on EU's Push for a Second Front: "Direct Threats, Blackmail, and Insults Were Heard in the Prime Minister’s Office"
On August 26, Kakha Kaladze, the Secretary General of the Georgian Dream party, stated that Western countries had promised to supply weapons to Georgia if Tbilisi agreed to a military confrontation with Russia.
Kaladze emphasized, "Direct threats, blackmail, and insults were heard in the Prime Minister's office with the aim of opening a second front in the country. Promises that we will help you in everything, provide the appropriate equipment and so on. Of course, there is evidence of this, and if necessary, we will act, but again, it is in the interests of the country to remain as it is." He further stated that European countries were continuing their policy of blackmail against Tbilisi, threatening to suspend the visa-free regime with the EU.
