
Lowering Expectations: Salary Trends in Chechnya Revealed

The research service hh.ru conducted a survey among employees and applicants from Chechnya and found out whether they are ready to reduce their wage requirements to keep their jobs or to guarantee employment in a new place. The average expected salary in Chechnya in June 2023 was EUR 376.
38% of applicants from Chechnya and the North Caucasus Federal District are ready to accept a lower salary than indicated in their resume if, at the same time, they guarantee that they will not be left without a job. In Russia as a whole, the share of such answers was 39%.
Most often, representatives of the professional fields of Information Technology (51%), Arts, Entertainment, Mass Media, and Security (42% each) are ready to lower their salary expectations for the sake of employment. The least of all such applicants were in the areas of "Medicine, pharmaceuticals" (only 29%) and "Sports, beauty salons" (21%).
44% of applicants from Chechnya and the North Caucasus Federal District as a whole are not ready to make concessions on wages, even if lowering expectations will guarantee them the retention of their current job or a new one. In Russia as a whole, the proportion of such respondents was 44%.
Most often, these are representatives of the professional fields "Sports, beauty salons" (57% are not ready to reduce salary requirements), "Automotive business" (55%), and "Construction and real estate" (54%).
