North Ossetian Volunteers to Go to Donbas

Sergey Menyaylo, the head of North Ossetia, instructed the heads of the regions of the federal republic to prepare nominal volunteer units for participation in Russo-Ukrainian War. At a meeting in the government on August 29, he said that the federal republic would fully provide them with uniforms and equipment.
"We have some of the best surveillance equipment. It is used very effectively on the southern front. Both of our detachments are fighting very well. One of them is in the zone of the 58th Army. Nineteen people have already received state awards, including five for courage, bravery, and heroism. Moreover, it will be a great pride for the districts if our battalions have nominal units "Alagir" and "Nogir." Our formations even include fighters from the Far East and Siberia, but 70% of them are Ossetian soldiers," Menyaylo said.
It was instructed to report on the intermediate results of the formation of volunteer detachments on September 2. According to Menyaylo, some recruited volunteers will be included in the existing units. However, the main part will be included in the newly formed detachment.
