On December 26, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, addressed the reports circulating in media about alleged discord within the family of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. 

Kadyrov referred to reports from over two months ago suggesting an assassination attempt on former official Komil Allamzhonov in Uzbekistan, stating that the claim was exaggerated. "It is hard to call it an assassination attempt even with a stretch," Kadyrov said. 

He criticized the media for citing unnamed sources, which he attributed to “pro-Western outlets,” claiming that they had implicated him in the alleged plot. Kadyrov further emphasized, "If I had prepared it, I would have completed the job on the very same day. You shouldn't have such a bad opinion of me."

Kadyrov also pointed out the sudden involvement of Dmitry Lee, an official who emerged as another supposed victim of the alleged assassination attempt, two months after the trial had already begun.
