
Remittances to Azerbaijan Exceed $1 Billion in 2024, Russia Leads with $497 Million

In 2024, remittances to Azerbaijan surpassed $1 billion, with Russia emerging as the leading source.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, remittances from abroad totaled more than $1 billion in 2024. Russia topped the list with $497 million, followed by Turkey with $176 million and the United States with $65 million. Georgia and the United Kingdom rounded out the top five, contributing $35 million and $34 million, respectively.
During the same period, remittances sent from Azerbaijan abroad amounted to $527 million. Turkey was the primary destination, receiving $150 million, followed by the United States with $60 million. Russia ranked third with $58 million, while Georgia and the United Kingdom received $45 million and $28 million, respectively, completing the top five destinations.
