
Russian Army in Armenia Continues Air Exercises

On 20 June, pilots of MiG-29 fighters of the operational-tactical aviation base of the Southern Military District (SMD) completed training tasks during training flights in Armenia.
The flights were carried out in the areas of mountain gorges along a given route with the development of various tasks, including the manoeuvring of combat vehicles in pairs and units at different altitudes, in daylight and darkness.
More than 120 servicemen of the Southern Military District took part in the training flights from the Erebuni airbase near Yerevan, and about 20 units of military and special equipment, including MiG-29 multirole fighters, were involved.
It is also reported that servicemen of the Special Forces Unit of the Military Base of the Southern Military District in Armenia will take part in the training at the Alagyaz mountain training area. The commandos will complete a 20-kilometre march in full gear, overcoming natural and artificial obstacles, including water.
