
Russian Caspian Flotilla Begins Ocean-2024 Naval Exercises

On September 10, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that warships from the Caspian Flotilla had set out to sea to participate in the Ocean-2024 exercises.
The participating vessels include the missile ship Dagestan, the small artillery ships Astrakhan and Volgodonsk, the small missile ships Veliky Ustyug, Grad Sviyazhsk, and Uglich, the base minesweepers Magomet Gadzhiev and German Ugryumov, and anti-sabotage boats and harbor minesweepers.
The crews are scheduled to practice targeting both surface and air threats. Approximately 200 exercises are planned, including live firing from the A190-01 Universal and AK-306 artillery mounts. The drills will take place across three sea ranges in the Caspian Sea.
