Saakashvili Praises Aliyev’s Speech at Antalya Forum for Rejecting Political Hypocrisy

On April 15, Mikheil Saakashvili, former President of Georgia, praised Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his "powerful and courageous" speech at the recent conference at the ADA University in Baku.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Saakashvili highlighted that Aliyev’s remarks stood out for rejecting "false, hypocritical political correctness and double standards." He noted that the Azerbaijani President "called things by their names" and expressed thoughts that others "dare not say aloud."
Saakashvili particularly commended Aliyev for directly addressing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and offering a clear perspective on resolving the crisis. He asserted that Aliyev’s speech reaffirmed his status not only as a regional leader but also as "a pioneer of a new principle in international relations, grounded in a strong sense of national dignity."
