
Senior NATO Official Visits Azerbaijan

Javier Colomina, Deputy Assistant to the NATO Secretary General for Political and Security Affairs and Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, visited Azerbaijan.
In Baku, the NATO representative met with Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Presidential Aide - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov.
On 26 May, a meeting was held between Jeyhun Bayramov and Javier Colomina, the press office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, issues of NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation, the Azerbaijani-Armenian normalisation process and the current state of negotiations were discussed. The meeting noted the importance of conducting regular political dialogue and developing practical cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO as a partner country and contributor to peace and security in the region and beyond.
"Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his counterpart on the normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the steps taken by Azerbaijan to advance the peace agenda, and the military and political provocations by Armenia that undermine the peace process," the report added.
At the meeting, Colomina stressed NATO's support for the process of normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
