
Separatist Abkhazia Holds Large-scale Military Exercises

On April 8, the Armed Forces of the separatist Abkhazia began large-scale military exercises. Their goal is to increase the readiness of headquarters and troops.
"The main goal of the exercises is to increase the readiness of headquarters and troops, the level of their coherence in solving suddenly arising tasks," the report added. The exercises began with checking the combat readiness of the military command and control bodies and troops with access to training grounds and unfamiliar terrain areas.
"At all stages of the exercises, complex training tasks will be worked out, as close as possible to real ones, against a constantly evolving operational background. Particular attention will be paid to working out the issues of complex destruction of the enemy by modern forces and means, organizing and maintaining the interaction of all types and branches of the Armed Forces," the de-facto Ministry of Defense noted.
The ministry also noted that the plan for joint combat training of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carries out all activities for training headquarters and troops.
