Sergey Naryshkin: "US Tries to Create Instability Near Russia in Caucasus and Asia"

On December 19, Sergey Naryshkin, the Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation, stated that the US continues its attempts to destabilize Central Asia and the South Caucasus to create a belt of instability along Russia's outer perimeter.
Pointing out that Washington will continue to shake the internal political situation in China, provoke an increase in tension in the Taiwan Strait and on the Korean Peninsula, and strive to weaken and change the governments of Cuba, Iran, and Venezuela that are objectionable to the West, Naryshkin stated: "At the same time, attempts to destabilize Central Asia and the South Caucasus will continue as part of the well-known course of the White House to create a belt of instability along the outer perimeter of Russia."
He recalled that one of the destructive scenarios developed by Washington and aimed at containing, weakening, and disintegrating Russia had been implemented in Ukraine since 2014. "Under the guise of defending Ukrainian statehood, and in reality, a pro-Western anti-Russian puppet regime, the US and its allies launched an unprecedented campaign of total Russophobia, attempting to punish and even cancel Russia, which fundamentally violates basic democratic principles, including human rights and the inviolability of private property, which our opponents have been proud of for decades," the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service said.
Naryshkin emphasized, "However, the armed conflict in Ukraine provoked by the United States changed the course of modern geopolitical processes familiar to the Anglo-Saxon world, calling into question the preservation of unconditional dominance by Washington and its satellites." According to him, the tectonic plates of history have begun to move, and the world will never be the same again.
"It is no coincidence that in one of his speeches in July 2022, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin emphasized the fact that they [Western countries] should have understood that they lost from the very beginning of our special operation because its beginning also means the beginning of a cardinal breakdown of the world order the American way. This is the beginning of the transition from liberal-globalist American egocentrism to a truly multipolar world. And we must understand that this process can no longer be stopped. The course of history is inexorable," the SVR Director summed up.
