Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár has announced that the issue of Georgia’s chairmanship of the OSCE has been formally raised within the organization. He shared these remarks during a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart, Maka Bochorishvili. "In international organizations, we support each other's candidacies... Georgia can make a significant contribution to security issues, so we welcome this candidacy. Cyprus's candidacy is also on the list," Blanár stated.

The Minister also addressed the current suspension of dialogue between Georgia and the European Union, emphasizing Slovakia’s support for a "proper dialogue." He noted, "We advocate for maintaining dialogue and honesty in our relations. Communication must continue to prevent disinformation that does not align with reality."

During his address, Blanár mentioned a Georgian port—presumably the port of Kulevi—that could be at risk of sanctions. "In connection with Russia, a port is mentioned that, according to Brussels, is being used to circumvent sanctions. Georgia is in contact with the relevant EU bodies, and I see no reason why Georgia would evade sanctions. I oppose the inclusion of this port on the sanctions list," the Slovak Foreign Minister declared.

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, currently on an official visit to Slovakia, raised the critical issue of supporting her country's territorial integrity. "Slovakia has always been an important country for Georgia and continues to be so. Our governments are well aware of the importance of protecting the sovereignty of our states and cooperating with each other... Protecting our sovereignty is the only way to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity for our citizens. In this regard, our cooperation and mutual support are of great importance," she said.

At the conclusion of the joint briefing, it was announced that senior Slovak officials—including the President, Prime Minister, and Speaker of Parliament—are scheduled to visit Georgia in the near future.
