The statements of Garibashvili constitute grounds for condemnation

Salome Zourabichvili, the president of Georgia, remarked that Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili's parliamentary address was ludicrous and extremely disrespectful in its tone, and that it conveyed to Brussels the most unfavourable message possible. The President mockingly summarised Garibashvili's speech to Georgian MPs, in which he attempted to explain why Moldova and Ukraine were recommended as candidates by the European Commission but Georgia received preconditions. According to President Zourabichvili, Prime Minister’s speech confused both the general public and herself.
Additionally, Prime Minister Garibashvili accused Arakhamia, the majority leader of the Verkhovna Rada and a member of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's "Servant of the People" party, and the Georgian opposition of essentially issuing an ultimatum to Europe, stating that they would be highly disappointed if Georgia was granted candidate status.
According to Arakhamia, Garibashvili disseminates misleading information at the behest of a particular oligarch, and Georgian citizens should not heed their government's blatantly false statements. Arakhamia went on, "We, the Ukrainian government, will do all possible to help Georgia join the European Union. I am confident that Europe will have a prosperous future if we all work together."
