US Deputy Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy: "We Intend to Further Develop Cooperation With Azerbaijan"

Speaking at the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council in Baku on January 3, Laura Lohman, the Adviser to the US Deputy Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy, said that the United States intends to further develop cooperation with Azerbaijan.
"President Joe Biden supports the export of gas from the Caspian region to Europe. The United States has supported and will continue to support the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project to ensure the energy security of its partners in Europe," the American diplomat stressed.
According to her, SGC is a significant project for Europe, and Azerbaijan is leading in ensuring the continent's energy security. "The Southern Gas Corridor plays an important role in strengthening not only the energy but also the political security of Europe. This project creates opportunities for cooperation among many countries, and the use of this opportunity ensures economic growth. The United States will continue to support the transportation of natural gas produced in the Caspian Sea to Europe and provide assistance to Azerbaijan," Lohman added.
The representative of Washington also noted that the United States, given the environmental problems in the world, can invest in the production and export of green energy in Azerbaijan.
