US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that the US may consider further measures if Georgia's government does not change its current direction.

“Saturday’s election occurred in an environment shaped by ruling party tactics—misuse of public resources, vote-buying, and voter intimidation—which skewed the playing field and undermined confidence in a fair outcome,” Miller said.

The US backed calls from observers for a full investigation of election violations and urged respect for freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. Miller encouraged Georgia’s leaders to prioritize their relationship with the Euro-Atlantic community over authoritarian-aligned policies.

“With over 80% of Georgians supporting EU and NATO integration, as enshrined in Georgia’s constitution, the ruling party’s recent measures are inconsistent with this path,” he noted.

Miller concluded by urging Georgia’s leaders to recommit to the Euro-Atlantic path through electoral reforms, repeal of anti-democratic laws, and a renewed focus on EU accession requirements.
