Vladimir Putin Allocates EUR 50 Million to Dagestan

On July 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the allocation of EUR 50 million to Dagestan. Additional money for Dagestan is intended for the reconstruction of the street road network, the development of tourism facilities, and the completion of the construction of a universal sports complex.
Commenting on the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to allocate money to Dagestan, Sergey Melikov said that Dagestan will receive an additional EUR 50 million for the development of Derbent, said the head of Dagestan.
"Vladimir Vladimirovich, who just last week held a meeting in the ancient city on the development of tourism and supported our projects, has already made a very important decision for us today. This city is not just a visiting card of our republic; in many areas, it becomes a reference point for all other municipalities. Derbent is experiencing such a flourishing thanks to the work of a professional team and, of course, the participation in its development of Suleiman Abusaidovich Kerimov [entrepreneur, senator from Dagestan]," Melikov said.
According to the head of the region, it is necessary to maintain the current pace despite all the difficulties, in order, among other things, to create comfortable living conditions in the city for Derbent residents and its guests, to complete the social facilities that have been started, and to upgrade the infrastructure. "The president's personal support guarantees that we will bring all the issues to an end," Melikov said.
